22 Park Avenue was founded in May of 2002.
The band's founders recruited the best musicians from several bands in which they played, plus a
few band directors and music teachers from the area. Under the direction of Bob Curran, 22
Park Avenue was able to get up and running very quickly. 22 Park Avenue has performed at
community celebrations, holiday parties, summer music festivals, swing dances, benefits, retirement communities,
and church events.
What Makes 22 Park Avenue Different?
22 Park Avenue is an all-volunteer group.
Our goal is to bring high-quality big band entertainment to places that otherwise could not
afford it, such as retirement communities, church groups, etc. And thatís been a win-win situation!
Most of our fee is used for the rental of sound reinforcement equipment. The remainder is put
toward other band costs, such as rehearsal space rental, and the purchasing of new arrangements.
Basically, we try to keep the fees at the minimum level needed for the band to survive, in hopes
of bringing our music to a larger audience.
